# [[Green Dragon]] ![[Green-Dragon.png|500]] This is a dragon plush that I crocheted for my Popular Applied Arts class. In this class, we would spend roughly a week or two with different craft methods (Things like crochet, embroidery, basket weaving, and book binding), and then choose a method for the final and spend the last month of the class working on a bigger project with it. I’ve always loved dragons and had recently started learning how to crochet, so when we reached the crochet unit, I knew what I wanted to make. The assignment was simply to make a 3D object with crochet. They gave us examples like a hat or small plush, but I wanted to do a big dragon, so they let me turn in the body of the dragon for that assignment, and then I could finish the rest of it for my final project. It is also worth noting that this was made with a pattern made by the artist ImaginedYarn on Etsy (You can find it [here](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1743431061/crochet-sleeping-dragon-pdf-pattern?ref=yr_purchases)). This was such a fun project to make, as it had so many different parts to make and attach to the body. Since I had only worked on Amigurumi (crochet plushies) up to this point, the wings proved to be more of a challenge than I was expecting, but it has proved to be a great learning experience as I have had several projects now that I've worked on that had 2D aspects (whether it's the whole thing or just a piece). All the other pieces were fun to make and this was the most sewing I've ever done on a crochet project, and while I don't mind it, I can see why there are a lot of patterns that are designed in a way to avoid sewing. # [[Bing Bong]] ![[Bing Bong Close Front.jpg|500]] This was my first attempt at felting in 3D, and I'm really happy with how it came out! It's based off of a plush named Bing Bong in the game, *PEAK*, and I absolutely love this game and this plush. *PEAK* is a multiplayer game about climbing a mountain with your friends, and … that's pretty much it. It's a simple game, but it turns out, climbing a mountain is hard. It's still fun, though, because you get to work towards this difficult goal with your friends and play around with them, as it has a lot of fun little things in the starting lobby for players to mess around with. One of these things is a little plush that's a bit disfigured, misses his wife, and his name is Bing Bong. I don't know why I latched on to this little guy, but the minute I saw him, I knew I would take him with me to the ends of the earth. Inventory space in the game is quite limited, so you have to be careful what stuff you carry with you, and yet, I always save a spot for Bing Bong. Now, when it comes to this project, it was for the Popular Applied Arts class (A different time from the green dragon, though. I took it a second time), and the instructions were, once again, left very open with the only requirement being that it had to be 3D. We were given a selection of colors of wool to pick from, and I happen to find the perfect shade of green for Bing Bong, so I got the idea and grabbed the colors I would need. What I didn't realize, however, is how wool-hungry felting can be, so I quickly had to scale back the size quite a bit. There's a lot I could improve on (the limbs could definitely be attached better), but I think it came out really well! I definitely want to try some more felting at some point, but for now, I have quite a few crochet projects to get through first.
